LEARN MORE

Our Practice

Grounded in the principles of respect, transparency, and cultural integrity.

We specialise in working with First Nations artists, communities, and clients to realise projects that honour Country, elevate Indigenous voices, and foster meaningful engagement with place.

Our mission is to bridge cultural perspectives - hyphenating worldviews - through creative partnerships that prioritise artists, not administrators. By taking less, we give more - returning value to where it belongs: the production of art and the people who make it. We exist to shift the balance back toward creators, ensuring that budgets serve the artwork itself and that artists are fairly paid for their labour, knowledge, and vision.

At Hyphenate, we believe that ethical collaboration is not an add-on, but the foundation: trust, fairness, and accountability shape everything we do. We walk alongside communities, curators, councils, and developers to co-create public artworks that are rooted, resonant, and responsible.

OUR SERVICES

HYPHENATE is proud to operate out of Australia but welcomes the opportunity to work on projects in any corner of the globe.

Hyphenate acknowledge the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia, and in particular the Whadjuk Nyoongar people, the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and work. we pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise their continuing connection to the vast skies above, the flowing waterways, and the lands beneath our feet, Country that has held story, knowledge and spirit for countless generations. May we walk gently upon this Country, listening and learning from its custodians, with gratitude and respect.
